Spotlight on Lexi

Lexi P. (AA) is the free spirit behind the fun, fellowship, and unforgettable activities that women enjoy at Woman's Journey. From hiking trails and yoga to crafts and meditation, Lexi helps create the experiences that make everyone feel more alive.
Lexi is looking for someone just like you to lead an activity, helping create a fun-filled and adventurous (or not!) weekend of fellowship, connection, and lasting memories.
The Joy Behind the Woman's Journey Activities
At Woman's Journey, activities are more than time filling crafts. They are opportunities to try something new, share a few laughs, and discover new sides of yourself.
Lexi helps bring those experiences to life.
We invited her to share about recovery, service, and why trying something new can be such an important part of recovery.

The Free Spirit Behind Woman's Journey Activities
✨ How many years have you been attending Woman’s Journey, and what first brought you there?
The first time I attended was in 2023, so only a few years! I had heard about the retreat through some friends and I really wanted to go but I couldn't afford it... So one of my friends offered to pay for my registration. I felt so blessed. I was going through a very difficult time - divorce, problems with kids, finance....
The retreat was exactly what I needed for that final push to the other side of those difficulties and I am so thankful! After that life changing experience, I knew I had to get involved so I applied to be on the board!
💜 What keeps bringing you back each year?
I am thrilled to be on the board and be a small part of that spiritual awakening for other women who may be going through a hard time! I also love all of the women who go and I love the beauty and comfort of Mo Ranch!! It's exciting to see old friends, make new ones and just simply EXPERIENCE the retreat with an open heart and mind. Each year I feel like it improves my recovery, my relationships with people and with God!!!
🌿 This is your third year on the board, what roles have you held & which has been your favorite?
I am sad that this is my last year, I'm sure I will still be volunteering in any way I can after I retire. The first and now this year again, my role was/is Activities. The second year I did marketing which ended up being A LOT more than that, but I was up for the challenge and with anything regarding AA or Alanon - I gave it my all! I am thrilled to see all that Diana has done this year with Marketing - She is kicking butt!!
My favorite, if you know me at all, is Activities! I love planning all of the outdoor adventures - it's totally my jam! Canoeing, Hiking, Labyrinth Experience and the Cold Plunge Slide (haha- we still get a few!) - I'm open to new suggestions! We also have more crafty options like bracelet making that I tend to delegate because that is NOT my jam - PLEASE hit me up if you are CRAFTY! We added caroling in the chapel last year - I think that was a big hit! Carols sound heavenly in that sweet little chapel! And then of course the karaoke and lip sync contest is ALWAYS a BLAST!! I had so much lip syncing to Guns n Roses last year as you can see from the pic! My guitarist Slash aka Johnna was the best though!! We won - of course!
🌸 This year, you're serving as Director of Activities. What do you love most about helping create fun and fellowship for the women attending the retreat?
I really love hiking to the cross! It is an opportune time to really have those great conversations about life and get to know people better. I especially love the fun pictures at the top, especially the silly ones! But also there is that serenity and time to reflect as you look over that majestic river valley. It is life changing!
💜 What would you say to someone who feels nervous about volunteering or getting involved with service for the first time?
Dive right in sister! The water is great! It is a wonderful opportunity to get to know some truly amazing women who all care deeply about this event. You won't be alone, we all help each other out and you will have guidance you need! It is so fulfilling and FUN to be part of the crew that makes those fun annual fundraisers happen and of course being part of the formation of the EPIC Woman's Journey! You will find sisters in recovery who you will treasure forever!!
✨ And one last question Lexi, when it comes to fajitas, are you ordering chicken, beef, or shrimp?
My favorite are beef fajitas - prepared by myself - mmmmm yummmm!! I think I need to make some of those....

Meet Nancy
Director of Workshops
Nancy L. (Al-Anon) is the heart behind our workshop experience. She coordinates the workshop sessions, supports our facilitators, and helps ensure that every woman feels welcome, heard, and valued through the workshops.
This year we have a record number of 12 workshops!
Nancy is looking for someone just like you to co-facilitate a workshop, which will help create a powerful weekend of connection, recovery, and hope.
The Heart Behind the Workshop Experience
At Woman's Journey, workshops are more than meetings. They are spaces where women laugh, heal, connect, and discover they are not alone.
Nancy helps bring those moments to life.
We invited her to share about recovery, service, and why coming together matters so much.

The Heart Behind the Workshop Experience
✨ Tell us a little about yourself and your Al-Anon recovery journey.
Hi guys! My name is Nancy L. I’ve been in Al-Anon for a little over 9 years. I love being of service to women. Being of service has taught me what I have to offer others, and I’ve also learned so much from them. I find it very rewarding, and I believe it’s important to give back what was freely given to me.
💜 What’s your favorite thing about Woman’s Journey?
Woman’s Journey has been such a wonderful experience. Being around these women is truly inspiring. We are all here for the same purpose because we have been affected by alcoholism in some way. We are here to support one another, be of service, and connect with other like-minded women on this journey.
🌿 What inspired you to join the Woman’s Journey Board?
What inspired me to be on the board was that I loved the workshops and met some wonderful women from all walks of life. Since I had such a great experience, I want to give back and help create that same positive experience for others as well.
💜 What would you say to someone who feels nervous about being of service or co-facilitating a workshop?
It’s normal to feel nervous about volunteering, but if something doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you. Being of service can be a great opportunity to grow spiritually and emotionally. And if you ever need support, you are not alone — help is always around.
🌸 In one word, how do you hope women feel when they leave Woman’s Journey?
My hope is that when women leave the retreat, they will feel refreshed, renewed, re-energized, and grateful. 🙏🏽
✨ What’s your favorite recovery slogan or spiritual principle?
Favorite slogan: “Detachment with love.” This has been one of my biggest life lessons. To me, it means having compassion for others while also allowing them the dignity to walk their own journey.
Spiritual principle: Service — helping others while also learning more about yourself and those around you.
💌 If someone would like to co-facilitate a workshop, how can they get in touch with you?
If anyone is interested in participating in the workshops, please reach out to me at ngarcialee@inursecoach.com
And one last question Nancy, queso, salsa, or guacamole?
I like all three — queso, salsa, and guacamole. It really depends on my mood and what I’m craving.
